At the end of the first half, the BFA-Fairfax boys’ basketball team trailed Vergennes by a tough 24-12 margin before things started to click in the second half of Thursday’s game.
The Bullets outscored the Commodores 18-4 in the third quarter to make it a game again.
The two teams forced double overtime where Everett Haddock led the charge for the Bullets to come away with a 60-53 win.
Haddock knocked in seven of his nine points in double overtime and also help set the tone on the defensive end in the big third quarter for Fairfax.
Ben Keogh had a team-high 17 points for the Bullets and also had a game-saving block at the end of regulation to force overtime.
Dylan Lumbra added 12 points and Nick Place had 11 for Fairfax.
The Bullets improved to 2-1 on the year and will play in the Lamoille Tournament starting on Monday.
