Two second period goals was all the No. 3 Missisquoi girls hockey team needed on its way to a 2-0 win over No. 2 Woodstock on Monday in a tough Div. II semifinal matchup.
Adrianna Dostie scored with just over five minutes to go in the second on an assist from Olivia Thayer. Alyssa Audet added the second tally of the night less than a minute later on a feed from Renee Bouchard.
Makyla Bombardier picked up the shutout for the Thunderbirds.
Missisquoi will take on top-seeded Rice in the championship game on Wednesday at Gutterson Fieldhouse on the University of Vermont campus. The Green Knights topped No. 4 U-32 4-3 in overtime during their semifinal game on Monday.
Missisquoi played Rice three times this season going 1-2.
This will be the fourth title game for the Thunderbirds after they went to three straight from 2007-09. They went 1-2 in that span.
The puck for Wednesday’s championship game will be at 6 p.m.
