The BFA-St. Albans boys hockey team traveled to a tough Spaulding team on Saturday for its first game of the season after the extended preseason and came away with a solid outing.
The Bobwhites had five different players score during the game on their way to a 5-2 win over the Crimson Tide.
“Overall we were happy with the team’s effort and resiliency,” said BFA assistant coach Ben Roberts. “Our execution was pretty good as well considering it was our first game.”
Sean Beauregard tallied a goal and an assist for the Bobwhites, while Colby Morin tallied two assists. Christian Vallee, Daniel Rafferty, Levi Webb and Matt Merrill each had a goal in the game, while Cam Johnson and Gavin Fraties each picked up an assist.
Michael Telfer made 24 saves for BFA.
The Bobwhites were happy to get out playing another team after a long preseason.
“We had a couple intrasquad scrimmages once we were allowed to do so, but it’s hard to replicate the competitiveness and challenges of the real deal,” said Roberts. “We look forward to getting back after it this week and preparing for our next game on Wednesday at home.”
The Bobwhites have their home-opener Wednesday when they host Colchester.
